About the A.A.H.P.S.
Our Mission and Goals
The American Axe History Preservation Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, preserve, and share the rich history of American axe manufacturing through research, education, and public service.
Our goals are as follows:
--To increase the number of axe manufacturing based historical markers at important historical
locations in order to further illuminate the importance of such sites.
--To assist in the preservation of known axe history sites, including grave sites of axe persona,
axe manufacturing locations, historic homes, and sales sites such as hardware establishments.
--To provide public service and volunteer opportunities to historical commissions, historical
societies, history clubs, local museums, and other organizations through consultation, development of
exhibits, production of educational literature, and educational
presentations for both public and private groups.
--To assist in the preservation of axe collections, axe based ephemera, and axe related historical
relics by the establishment of preservation protocols, identification guides, and guides for identifying non-authentic axe replicas.
